I did my doctorate alongside Ingi at Mines ParisTech, and had the chance to run several projects with him and to teach at his side. His expertise in innovative design, design-through-use and innovation management is remarkable, as the quality of his thesis attests. Co-teaching with Ingi was effortless: he combines complete command of his subject with real charisma as a speaker. Beyond his qualities as a researcher and a teacher, I came to appreciate his creativity in action, his ability to drive projects and rally a group around clear and motivating goals, and his flexibility in the face of the unexpected.
As Agendize CTO, Ingi is shaping the company's technological strategy and product vision, and has had an incredible impact on the quality of our product and software developments. Ingi possesses the two main qualities that make true leaders in his field: an ability to bring his team onboard with exceptional motivational and pedagogical skills, and outstanding technical knowledge allowing him to dive into complex technical issues when needed.
All of the best product people I know have a broad set of interdisciplinary skills across creativity, engineering and business. Ingi happens to be one of the rare individuals to possess this breadth. He can effortlessly switch between tasks as diverse as user experience design, engineering and product strategy, both as a leader and individual contributor, never hesitating to get his hands dirty whenever necessary.
